OUR VALUES

Mission

VISION

A world where all travel is responsible travel and all global citizenship education is critical, conscious and change-making.

OUR REASON FOR BEING

Peak Experiences grew from the desire to transform travel from the inside out. Co-constructing tools with the inspirers and insiders of education, business, and social ventures to reimagine global education for social and environmental change.

Conscious

Our Social & Environmental Commitment

Social and environmental responsibility is everyone's business. Peak Experiences doesn't just talk the talk of reciprocal, respectful relationships with our environment and community partners; we walk the walk (while leaving the lightest footprints behind).

Green is not a just our brand, it is both our journey and destination

and we tread that path in every aspect of our beliefs and business.

We use Anne Pollock's five principles for purpose-driven travel to:

  • deliver better value for more people;

  • support all life and operates in harmony with nature;

  • actively celebrate and nurture the uniqueness of places and people

  • enable all stakeholders to experience positive net benefit and develop their full potential as human beings; and

  • support meaningful and sustainable livelihoods for the people, destinations and enterprises on which travel depends.

Environmental responsibility

Carbon Neutral: On top of being low-waste, minimal impact travellers, Peak Experiences counterbalances our carbon footprint with Canada-based VER+ Standard-certified carbon offsets.

Low-Waste Living: We advocate for a waste-free, plastic-free, plant-based lifestyle.

Giving Back: Less than 3% of all global philanthropic dollars go to solving environmental problems. Peak Experiences donates annually to Canada-based 1% For The Planet partners.

Social responsibility

Supporting Self-determination: Ethical tourism cannot exist on stolen land or within exploitative labour relations. Only community-based tourism products that are 100% owned and operated by the community itself will be discussed and promoted by Peak Experiences. See our blog for more information on how conscious tourism can support tribal land rights and self-determination.

Highest International Standards: for a more sustainable and equitable worldWe live the values of the World Tourism Organization's (WTO) Global Code of Ethics for Tourism (GCET) and go beyond their benchmarks in every way.
